Gameday {Part III}

Recovery

When I was a rookie, a veteran player told me to do something beneficial for my body everyday; even something as simple as clipping my toe nails, stretching properly, or hiring a personal masseuse. Some of his advice flew over the heads of other young players, because he wasn't necessarily telling us anything we hadn't heard before. But his message was about doing the little things consistently. I was always determined to be a great NFL player so I took his advice to heart and decided I was going to apply his philosophy to my overall preparation. 10 seasons later I'm still playing at a high level and my recovery routine is a big reason why. For all the young athletes out there who want to play professional football, here's one of my secrets to longevity. --Mebane
